The Meteorological Society of New Zealand’s annual conference will be held at the University of Auckland Main Library (109-B10), from 18-20th November. The conference will feature a welcome function on Monday 18th at Old Government House, a student and ECR event at NIWA on Tuesday 19th and a social dinner at Baduzzi restaurant on the evening of Tuesday 19th.

From Data to Decisions: Science for Climate Resilience

This year, Day 2 of the conference will focus on climate change adaptation and mitigation, featuring talks from both scientists and end users. A panel discussion, chaired by Professor James Renwick, will address the needs of end users and stakeholders from the scientific community. Day passes are available for those wishing to attend only this day.

The ICSHMO series began in the early 1980s and for over 40 years has
provided a unique venue for discussion of the science of the Southern
Hemisphere. All things south of the Equator are topics for discussion at
ICSHMO meetings: oceans, ice, weather, climate, advances in science and
technology, human interactions with the environment, and reflections on
the history of our science. The ICSHMO conferences bring together a
special family of researchers from across the Southern Hemisphere and
    beyond.

The 14th conference, to be held in South Africa in 2025, will be an in-
person meeting only to facilitate networking and engagement which is so
important for developing new research opportunities, and for providing
    opportunities for early-career professionals.
The website with conference details, and more detailed programme will be
    made available later in 2024.

The committee welcomes all contributions on Southern Hemisphere
    weather, ocean, and climate science.
