Abstract: 

Tropical Cyclone Isaac took less than 24 hours to inflict considerable damage on the Tonga Group. The most severe cyclone to hit Tonga since March 1961, it was one of the most intense cyclones known to have affected the Group, causing at least six deaths and making thousands of people homeless.
