2012 Conference

The 2012 annual conference of the Meteorological Society of New Zealand is being held on 19-20 November at the Copthorne Hotel, Orientral Bay, Wellington.  Check out the details at Photos from the conference as well as links to the conference presentations and posters are provided below.


Big rain

Wild weather moving up the country is now bringing flooding to some roads around the Ruapehu district, and State Highway Three has been blocked by a landslip.

The Whanganui River is also on the rise, potentially to its highest point in more than a decade.

The upper part of the South Island was pounded by heavy rain yesterday, forcing some Nelson homeowners to sandbag their properties and isolating Westport for most of the day.
